Northwest Health - La Porte Makes Donation to La Porte Parks Department in Honor of its Medical Staff

On April 26, 2023 Northwest Health – La Porte celebrated National Doctor’s Day by honoring the physicians on its medical staff in a significant and long-lasting way.
The medical staff opted to forgo the Doctors Day gifts they typically receive from the hospital in lieu of a donation to a local project of their choosing. The physicians chose the City of La Porte’s Chessie Trail extension as it fits well with the hospital’s purpose of helping people get well and live healthier lives.
“This is a special presentation for us as it marks what we hope will be a new tradition here at Northwest Health – La Porte; giving back to the communities of La Porte County in honor of the physicians on our medical staff. ” said Keith Nichols, Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Health – La Porte. “The Chessie Trail extension will make it even easier for families and people of all ages to enjoy the city with a walk, jog or bike ride.”
A new portion of the Chessie Trail is under construction. The trail will eventually extend to Michigan City.
