New OB/GYN physician lands in La Porte

8/18/2015 (La Porte, IN) - Bethany Cluskey, MD, is a new obstetrician/gynecologist who is accepting new patients at her La Porte office. Cluskey joined IU Health La Porte Physicians Women's Care this month, and said she is looking forward to connecting with the community.
"One of the most powerful things you can have in life is a trusted physician and healthcare provider, who you know is on your side and ready to help you to be your healthiest self. That's what I strive to offer the patients I see, and I'm really happy to be in La Porte to help women at whatever part of the life journey they are on," Cluskey said.
Cluskey received her Bachelor of Science in molecular and cellular biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Illinois, Urbana. She obtained her medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, California, and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology from Tulane University, New Orleans.
As a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Cluskey stays current on the latest health recommendations and research in her field. She particularly enjoys assisting patients with contraception, preventive medicine, sexual health, weight loss, cancer screenings and annual exams.
"I believe that having an annual exam with a trusted healthcare provider is a perfect window of opportunity to stay current on your health and prevent problems and diseases. Wellness exams are also a good way to connect with your provider and have your questions answered one-on-one, so you're both on the same page with the course of your health," Cluskey said.
Cluskey lives in La Porte, and when she is not seeing patients in the office or delivering babies, she enjoys cooking, running, shopping, silly comedies, and sleeping in.
