Emergencies can happen anytime, day or night - that's why Northwest Health - La Porte has emergency care services available 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. The emergency care teams specialize in caring for patients with acute illnesses or injuries which require immediate medical attention.
The emergency room is accredited by the American College of Cardiology as a Chest Pain Center with Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) Accreditation. We have streamlined our systems from admission and evaluation to diagnosis and treatment all the way through to appropriate post-discharge care. Hospitals that have earned this accreditation have proven exceptional competency in treating patients with heart attack symptoms and have primary PCI available 24/7 every day of the year.
The Northwest Health - La Porte emergency room features:
- Large, multi-functional examination rooms with curtains and sliding glass doors to assure privacy
- Private elevator to the helipad, second and third floors
- Cardiac care equipment in all examination rooms
- Centrally located, 360 degree visibility nursing station
- Large, comfortable waiting room and private family waiting and conference area
- Separate children's play area
- Vending machines

Sexual Assault
If you or someone you know has experienced a sexual assault, caring, trained nurses in the Northwest Health - La Porte emergency department are here to help. It's important to report your assault right away. The nurses are certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners and can help guide patients through emergency treatment for sexual assault, ensuring that all evidence is collected appropriately for law enforcement proper prosecution.
